SEEKING TALENTED PSYCHOTHERAPIST FOR PRIVATE PRACTICE
About Our Practice:
Karalyn Violeta began their social work career in nonprofit settings and community mental health clinics. For over 13 years, they have treated mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, OCD/OCPD, PTSD and c-PTSD, and mood and affect instability, and they frequently work at the intersections of these issues and clients’ concerns around sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. Another area of focus is on chronic pain, disability, and medical trauma.
Our practice has specific expertise working with Queer and LGB+, Trans, and Nonbinary adults and adolescents, and we are kink/BDSM, body neutral, (HAAS) and sex positive. We welcome and honor sex workers, and frequently work with freelancers and creatives (visual and performing artists, writers, musicians, and others). We write letters of surgical readiness for gender-affirming care and aspire to conduct interviews and assessments in collaboration with the client, using a person-centered and non-pathological approach. Our Administrative Coordinator will assist all therapists with billing, scheduling, and other support.
Ideal Candidates:
Our ideal candidate will be a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW); Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC); Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who is interested in working with LGBTQ+ adolescents and adults. Experience with these populations is required. We strongly prefer candidates with a working knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities such as DBT and CBT. We strive to be aware of new community resources (and to provide some of the best referrals around!); to act with compassion towards our clients, colleagues, and selves; and to continue honing our clinical skills throughout our careers.
